Architect / Developer Paul Thoryk is the winner of more than 70 grand design awards for every category of architecture and planning. Known for being extremely innovative and cost effective, he is the master planner and designer for the world’s largest gambling resort containing an 18-hole golf course, country club, water theme park, four 30 story high rise hotels and casinos, convention facilities, and resort condominiums totaling 6,000 rooms and units. He is presently negotiating with various governments for the development of theme park communities. Mr. Thoryk is considered a master of a unique architectural style that melds the ambiance and attention to detail of bygone eras, the crisp, functionality and versatility required by contemporary man, and respect and sensitivity for the physical environment that finds natural beauty hidden in even the most barren or difficult site.
Mr. Thoryk has created a signature “style” that eludes definition. The firm has received accolades for its sculpted exterior and interior spaces, its wood and glass contemporary structures, its designs interpreting colonial periods, its adaptation of “Contemporary Victorian” ambiance, its light touch of amusingly unanticipated spaces and its symbols of stained glass. Mr. Thoryk, whose thesis project during architectural studies at the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, was modular and component design / construction, is a proponent of greater flexibility of building codes to stimulate cost-effective new development, urban development and full employment.
